Willard, OH...it took us all of 40 minutes to drive here. It would had been faster but the gps told us to go under an 11' underpass and if I did we would not have an aircon unit on the rv anymore. So we had to go around. Not familiar with the town we went all the way around. But we got here safe and sound. PTL.
We have a nice lot to set the show and got to it right away. Our biggest worry was power and water is 300 feet away. We had 150 of water hose and power cords for the rv. But the organizer, Bryce, stepped up and got the extra cord and hose and all is good. Amazingly there was only a 5% drop in voltage over the line. Nice.
The kids set to setting up the show as I was sent out for various tasks around town....a new 25' hose for one of ours that leaked, a latch for an rv cabinet that broke 1000 miles back, new bulbs for three lights on one trailer that have blown out over time, food, drinks, a couple of foldable chairs, and other sundries needed for repairs or upgrading.
This town has some great stores for a tiny town. Their main grocer is also a sporting goods store, a stationary store, etc. Jim told me his last pair of work jeans ripped so low and behold a Goodwill is in town and now he is set for the trip.
Our new puppy, Cookie , is doing well. I say "our" puppy but he has been promised to our best friends in Paradise, ca, JC and Clydean. The are acting like expectant parents and preparing for their bundle of joy. And boy is he getting big. Being the only one in the litter he gets all the milk.
Ryan, our intern, is doing awesome. He is a respectful youngman and is pulling his weight. He still misses some sound queues so to encourage him I promised him a fire bowstaff if he nails all the queues from now on.
Amelia is also getting a fire hula hoop. They will arrive when we get to iowa.
It did rain toady but only after everything was set up. God's timing for us was perfect.
On a Godly note I felt compelled after all the horrible things that have happened and are nappening in America to repent for forgetting God and not turning to Him as our trust. I did in inopen prayer with the family and the circus. I am not a US represntative so I cannot repent for the country. But I fear the worse for America is on the way unless ou leaders do the same. If you are reading this then I beg you to repent as representative of you family, comapny, or group...because IT is coming...donMt be arrogant and believe you have any kind of control over IT.
On other notes. After two really bad hotels Mami and the kids are finally in a nice hotel. In the case of the last 2 hotels. The last one was the only hotel in town and the people ther seemed a bit racist against Asians. If I had the time I would've poked some noses. The one before that was the organizer being cheap. Emails promised a Holiday inn....he gave us a generic trucker's hotel where Mami couldn't walk the parking lot w/out being hit on or stared at by dubious looking men.
The RV camp, Gotta Getaway, in Bellevue was great. We stayed ther two days and can't tell you how wonderful ou whole experience was. The owners are aces! The facilities were clean, well kept, just wonderful. Mami and I had a wonderful romantic walk around the grounds, which includes a nice pond for fishing.
Pray the crazy rain will stop and the temps stay comfortable for us and the event and vendors. We appreciate all of you who have been praying for us.
For a not we paid 3.14 for gas today. Conserving lp gas as we can't find a pumping station. Once on the Interstate we should....next week.
Good night.love you all!
