Appalachian Museum

Bright and early we arose and headed off to the Appalachian Museum.  It's a several acre area that has all the huts, cabins, pens, houses, and everything else you can think of that related to the Appalachian life gathered up all over the area know as hillbilly country and relocated here so folks can see the hard working, creative people who made up the hills of Virginia, West Virginia, Tenn and Kentucky. After going through you can't help but come out thinking of then less as moonshiners an toothless red necks and more of resourceful, life loving, natural loving people.
Here are pictures from our trip.  I should mention that even the cabin used by tv for a  Dan'l Boone  series tha actually was built in the 1800s was there too.

One great thing was the snack bar had very reasonable prices so lunch was cheap.
Also, like all over the south, everyone was very kind.
After getting back to the RV we discovered the Aircon was dripping water into the main house part of the RV.  After inspection we guessed it was the high humidity and the angle of the RV.  But in the process of inspecting that (on the roof and from inside the RV) after fixing a small tear in the awning my back was pretty sore so I medicated up and started to take a nap. About an hour into that Mami and CC cames back and told me the van was setting off all kinds of bells and whistles. After inspection Jim, Miles, Victor Jr and I gave the van an Jump and drove it to Walmart and bought a new battery.  The old battery was bulging on all four sides.

Jim and I also ran down to down town Clinton, TN to hit the bank and while there we discovered an old Rexall Drug store, complete with the original soda fountain/restaurant, display counter in the center, druggist in the back and all the old signs and accouterments. It was like out of a movie....I will post a pix tomorrow.
Then we hit a big antique store with all kinds of things you could only find here.  Jim took all the kids back there later and they had a blast.
Finally a dip in the very cold pool and now I find myself here writing to you.
And with that....good night.
