Antnea like a butterfly, Lace wings, eyes like a fly....what is it??? A But-lace-fly
Well, it rained last night and a bit today. Fortunately our show is in the only building on the fairgrounds. It only lasted a few minutes then a cool to warm day ensued. It was comfortable all day.
I had to go out early to have a screw removed from a tire. It turned out to be two screws. The clerk at the hotel sent me to the shop her cousin worked at because Walmart’s tire service place had a really long line. Pricey…$18.50 to have a screw removed. I could buy 4 boxes of screws for that price. Oh well.
Our outing for the day was to the birthplace of the original recipe…Sanders Café…KFC. Just down old hwy 25. There was a long slow line of cars and we were at the tail end of it as we drove out of London toward Corbin, the town Sander’s café is in. Oddly the cars coming the other direction were all pulled over to the side of the road and as we passed they started to pull away and drive on. We were perplexed and then the answer came to us when the long line of cars pulled into a cemetery. It was a funeral procession and out here the opposite traffic pulls over for them.
Sander’s Café was Busy! The poor girl who helped us was frazzled and messed our order up pretty bad. Still she was very pleasant in spite of the problems. She was very apologetic and at one point we were feeling pretty sorry for her.
We have been regretting agreeing to be in the building at the fairgrounds. The loud ride with it’s pneumatic bangs and the lack of printed programs left us with a very sparse crowd for show #2. Show one had a fairly good size crowd and show #3 was awesome…I mean after the small size and no reaction of the second show we really need a great turn out and great response….we got it.
The girl who has a crush on Miles noticed I mentioned her in the last blog but wanted me to mention her name….It’s Katelyn….OK are you happy girl?
Buttercup has ended his fast he ate a mouse today.
One funny and kinda gross thing was a very large man stood at our sales table looking at our wares with a crowd. He had his shirt rolled up revealing his very large very hairy belly…innie and all!
We are getting to bed around 1AM Cali time (sometimes later …like tonight). We sleep in to 10 or 11 and the hotel maids have been nice about the whole thing. Still we eat fairly healthy foods with lots of veggies, dairy, etc….fair food is a very rare treat for us to eat. Don’t want to end up like the afore mention man at the sales table.
We were bumped from the front page of the local paper. The reporter told us we would be in the paper but a day later than originally planned because of the big news….a Chihuahua had a fork stuck in it’s head…and lived. Hopefully tomorrow.
