July 18 Repairs-Heat-A pulled Hami and laundry

Today was HOT and muggy...but the show goes on. We are pulling big crowds and keeping them for an hour at a time. They seem awfully happy when they leave.
In between the shows we had to get a little maintenance done.

(Filing down the nails)

The bed of nails got new headset upholstery and the nails were sharpened (hundreds of shows with bricks hitting the nails have dulled them a bit). We also trimmed the bunnies' nails and gave them some time to run free out of the cages for a while. The dark laundry was washed too.

Harry gets a manicure.

During the laundry I (VK) went to my butterfly hunting hot spot and caught a few local butterflies. (Saw lots of weird bugs there as well.) During a chase (which I am sure was funny looking to anyone watching) I turned funny and pulled my hamstring. For the rest of the day I walked with a limp...we'll see about tomorrow. (With the large family I have accumulated many pills, drugs, and OTC elixirs....so I hit my pharmacy bag for muscle relaxers and pain pills.)

Don't know what it is...but it's weird.

James is ripping things up with his stilt walking. He dances, bends, bumps, and jumps all while in the stilts. He had a clear blister yesterday and has been chaffing a bit so he has added pads that seem to be working. A lot of people have given us nice comments about him and the local girls swoon for the tall dark handsome guy.
Olivia (for the second day) extended he nap into the last show period. Last night she joined the show late. Tonight she just skipped it.
Princess Amelia loves the other shows at the park and today she became the volunteer for the Dinky Gowan show and got a souvenir photo of him and during the Musical Magic show she was the lucky lady to receive the stuffed dog toy given away by the singer (he produced it from a dove pan magic trick).
Miles had a bit of heat exhaustion from being in our lion costume at the start of the day. He wasn't sweating and he felt queasy. The lion is now cut while it is so hot. he had a ton of liquids and sat in front of our new air blower for a while. 30 minutes later he was much better and has been fine for the rest of the day.
