Sunny Days in Walton

Under sunny skies with an occasional cloud keeping it from getting too hot we performed under the big top at the Delaware County Fair here in NY. In fact, our shows were packed in nearly back to back today with one at 12, 2 and 4. We packed in the tent every time!
The way we have our BMT (trapeze rig) in front of the riser (stage) it would be quite easy for almost anyone to leap from the stage and grab hold of the bar or the lyre. So,in spite of my bad back) I did it twice today, purely for comical reasons, and the audience loved it as I played a flounder on the end of the line flaying about as Jim tried to either help me or "attack" me of sorts. However, everyone on cast knows my back could blow out and I could have serious spams any moment so the collective gasp as I do this from the kids off stage is audible. The looks from them are that of a parent angry with their child. I know I shouldn't do it. But it is fun and Jim knows he shouldn't play along, but neither one of us can help it. It gets laughs and it's good clean, though dangerous, fun.
Today was also laundry day and since our shows were over early me, Nick, Midori and Lukas hit the laundromat. $39+ and two hours later we were done. It's amazing how much, how fast, and how dirty a group of 13 can be.
Today Cynthia fed Titus and when he was nearly done she asked him if he was still hungry. Titus answers yes no questions by touching the the hand the represents no or yes that is held out by the asker. Cynthia asked Titus if he was hungry and he "said" yes. After exhausting the choices she finally asked him if he wanted to eat Belle (the dog) or his feet. He touched the hand that corresponded with his feet. Then he laughed and pulled his foot up to his knee then bent over and bit his own foot...laughing all the way.
One of the problems with performing here is that the tractor display is next to the performance tent and they run many of the tractors as the show is going on. It is a constant battle of our speakers over the sound. Another problem is that the various motor events check their cars, tractors, trucks, etc in and test them right behind our tent. Some of those machines make a noise that no sound system can out do. Beyond that this place is aces.
Since there is only one hotel and they gouge everyone, vendors, acts, 4H, FAA, fair board, etc etc camp here in RVs, tents, in their booths and in our case the boys are sleeping under the stage at the tent. They say it's pretty nice. I can't imagine. Miles has set up a small apartment under their.
The kids have mad a bunch of friends. When we got back from laundry the little ones had around 7 or 8 kids in our rv area (not in the RV) playing and laughing. There were four teenagers hanging out with Miles. The "camp" was very lively today.
