We did a 9 hour+ drive from Toledo, Ohio to Clarksville, TN. Happily things went fairly smoothly. We were blessed with only a couple of traffic jams , small ones at that. While northbound traffic seemed snarled everywhere.
We did have an incident where the van's warning light accompanied by a regular beeping sound "Fix RSC NOW" came on. Cynthia radioed me and I did a search on the internet my smart phone and Nick called a friend who is a mechanic. I discovered it was part of the Advance Trac system (like stabletrak on GM vans.) It wouldn't hurt to drive with it not working. But to be on the save side we pulled off the road and I took a look at things. When we restarted the van the system reset and all was cool.
Last year the Rv's "service engine" light came on a lot. We discovered it was low octane gas or gas with ethanol in it. Well, except for once at the start of the trip that light stayed off until today after filling up at a BP. I swear it always seems to be a BP. Anyway, it will take 3 8 hour drive sessions to clear the light and I will have to put a gumout style fuel system cleaner in the tank.
We dropped our trailers at the Speedway-fairgrounds when we pulled into town then grabbed dinner to go at a Steak and Shake. Burgers all around...except for Midori... Salad girl.
The folks at the grounds were really nice as were the Steak and Shake crew. (those of you on the west it's similar to In and Out in flavor.
See you on the MIdway!
Pleasant surprise yesterday. Bill Jackson (Uncle Bill) caught up with us in Ohio and joined us staying at Jay and Kris' house. (They are supper kind generous folks). He was there ten minutes and started voluntarily helping Mami with Titus. Titus was thrilled to see him. I enjoyed chit chatting with him as well. He took off for PA where he will teach magic and, as you know, we turned south.
