The day was hot and humid. But not as bad as yesterday. We ran only three shows today and all went well. OK, two ran well and the third one was a bit nutty. Little things plagued the show and the audience was too hat to be appreciative. The big boo was Nick falling off the trapeze at the closing climax. It was funny and scary. And it was at the only show our boss who hired us saw. Oh well. Still the feed back to him and others on the board have been outstanding and our sponsor there loved us. And we loved them. It was the Financial Plus Federal Credit Union. Their who crew was a pleasure to work with. Their girl in charge was KK aor Katrina. She was funny as all get out and a total people person. Really easy to work with. Her boyfriend brought her giant German Sheppard, Eli, down...too big for Belle to play with.
The girls found the remnants of the balloons that once decorated our tent. I used one to make myself bald. The heat crazies make you do these things.
We have added another large group of "stalkers (AKA Fans) to our list. I have added about 10 new facebook members to our Kent Family Magic Circus group page and added a couple more to my personal FB page.
Midori poses with Bryan a "stalker" who came to many shows just to see her. I think he was smitten.
As always we got to the show early so everyone could work on the wire, the trap, the lyra, hula hoops, juggling, etc. For me it is email check and coffee consumption time.
Victor has improved a lot on the tight rope but didn't practice his diabolo and got hung up in one show. And Nick fell at the "fake" fall climax of his trapeze act at the last show; the show our client, our boss was attending.
Fortunately, much good feed back proceeded us so all is good.
The grounds guy I bad mouthed at the begining turned out to be a real sport and a very nice guy so I retract my complaints about him. In fact, I like him.
At the end of the day the hospitality tent gave us a ton of cookies and apple slices to take home with us. So much for loosing weight this summer.
Our boss, Larry, was a terrific guy to work with. He is flamboyant in many respects but hard core serious about making the event a good one. He did a great job. He's a kid at heart with an adult ability to know when to be a child at heart.
Below there is a picture of Olivia laying down on the stage with a beer cup next to her. That is a staged picture. We thought it was funny that the hospitality tent only had those glasses for folks to drink out of so out teas and lemonades were served in them . OK, call my humor sick.
From here we head back up to Toledo for a church show this week.
