Rain Rain GO Away

There is a saying here in London, "If you want it to rain have a fair." (Actually told to me by fair board members). The area has been in a drought for some time. Then the fair starts and wham Bam Bang...rain.  It hasn't been the occasional thunder storm like last year that tore off our awning. It has been a drizzle with occasional showers.  Today was showers with occasional drizzles.   That kept attendance down and kept us in street clothes for most of the shows.  We had to keep some props under wrap.  In spite of the weather some people, very few, came and did sit through the show on sopping wet benches.

We made the front page of the Times Tribune (Corbin, ky) today:

The reporter called our circus the Victor Family Circus and said the bike had a 15 ft circumference, he otherwise got the story right. (150" is more like it)
I hear we will be on the front page of the London Sentinel Echo tomorrow.

Everyone managed through the storms today but it left Nick and Titus and Mami out of the shows. And it made for a tough day.

One woman brought a large group to see us today.  They watched all three shows but I felt sorry she didn't get to show them the show we usually do.  No trapeze, no tight rope, no big props that can be damaged by rain.

The poor dogs needed heavy duty brushing after each show...such is the life of a poodle.

an Imperial Moth flew about our stage and settled on a tent back stage.
Tator jumping over a kids....see his feet? (the kids)
Uh, no....I'm not addicted to technology!
 waiting to go on
 I need a brushing.
 betweeen shows.
Jeans and a black shirt and green tie...rain style.

Throngs watch....wait.....only a few people came out due tot he rain...Cynthia steals my sweater.
 Back stage work

 tada
You can't see the drops but it's raining.
