Storms - Front Page - Friends

Well, sleep was difficult last night. The passing of my friend Donnie at his own hand was a hard pill to swallow.  Suicide touches so many lives.  There was a pretty good sized group of us at the fairgrounds well past 2AM and a couple even until after 3AM.  Donnie was the go to man, the right arm of the fair manager, the tractor operator and the grounds layout guy. He's the one that pulls you out of your spot if the ground gets too soaked to pull your vehicles and trailers out. He will be missed.
I don't mean to sound cruel but as one of the group last night suicide is the ultimate selfish act. Not only because it hurts so many people, especially close family and kids, but because it shows the victim didn't have the trust i his heart to confide in friends, pastors, loved ones, etc. with his problems. I say this here to point out to anyone who ever even remotely thinks about such action to realize that there are so many people in you life who want to listen, to help, to hug, hold, and care for you....even if it is people you don't know.

(we are in the red circle area)
That said, I return to the blog. The drought in London might just be over.  If it isn't then it should be because this past wee has been WET. When we pulled into KY three weeks ago we noticed how dry the air was and how dry the grass, trees, and crops were. But our last day at Beech Bend Park in BG just as we finished pacing up the skies opened up and it seems they haven't closed since.  We had a near rain out two nights ago and performed in jeans in the rain.  Last night we had a late afternoon storm but the evening was awesome.  We are hoping that will be the weather map shows most of the south and Midwest WET!  At this writing (4:38pm) we have had a couple of nasty thunderstorms and a steady drizzle. A swamp has formed around our staging area.

Tonight we will pack up and I dearly hope we don't get stuck.  From here we will take a week off and visit cousins in Northern Ohio. They have a new house and a pool....but I am not sure I want to see water.  We will clean props from the storm, clean costumes, and get the RV generator services (it runs o but has too many hours on it so I should have it checked so we don't have problems down the road. )

I posted these on face book  but we made the front page center in the local paper:

Our regular children fans (stalkers) haven't been here this week due to the rain and other commitments. One of Victor's friends is the son of Donnie and hasn't been here for obvious reasons.  But a young couple have adopted the girls during the "inbetween times" of the shows. They have come for the last 2 nights and may be back today. They are really nice.
I may have more later but with pack up and an 8 hour drive tomorrow we shall see.
cheers.
